DVD Players with Dolby ProLogicII Decoding

Hi
I don't find many DVD players which have in-built Dolby ProLogicII Decoders, even tho many have SACD, DVD-A decoders. Why's that? Cud u say which chipsets support ProLogicII decoding, and some mainstream dvd players whcih do have the support 4 ProLogicII decoding?

all dvd players should,i just dont see many dvd players advertising pro logic on them.
i dont think that would be a great selling point.
technology has progressed since they came on the scene.
not a great deal of difference from prologic,still only left,right,center and rear.only difference is the so called spatiality,which is crap.

Pro Logic 2 is done by the receiver, not the DVD player.

Very true, Prologic is encoded in the PCM stream (low frequencies). It is not upto the dvd player to decode this. The reciever itself has to. This is usually the case with AC3 as well, however some dvd players will decode it for you. Myself, I have a dvd player to play dvds and my amplifier to decode and play the audio stream.

DTS, AC3 and prologic 1,2 auto detect.

Thats what i was trying 2 say. AV receivers do all the decoding, but most DVD players nowadays have DD and dts decoding built-in, so it makes 4 an HT with a shoe-string budget (don't watch 2 many movies myself). But the specs given in the doom9 forums suggest that the Zoran Vaddis 7 series chipsets support ProLogicII decoding, but haven't found a player which has PLII decoding in its feature-list..

Even tho there is a lot of power per channel ... 120 watts supposedly ... I actually use Carver amps for all my channels except for the Center channal ... I do use the Pioneer for that one.

The bathroom walls ... in my bedroom ... they rattle when I play a really good movie ... especially a Dolby Digital movie like Resident Evil II ... on the HBO High Definition channel. [the audio is Dolby Digital 5.1] ... on Comcast Cable. Looks great in High Definition on a 51 inch screen.

The following day ... my wife asked me what was I doing ... playing a video game ?? ... I didn't know there was another version of Resident Evil II ... this version ended different ... but I'm not going to say ... but they have left it open for Resident Evil III

Of course. I hav a couple of hifi amps lying about, and also have a Sony MHC-DP900D.

It should hav one, like all the AV Receivers and the Home-Theatre In A Box(HTIB) things (these HTIBs r comin in so cheap these days. The lowest 1 from Samsung costs the same as Samsungs HD-950 DVD player!)

Panasonic S77 and S97, 5 disc F87 and 5 disc Yamaha C750 and C950.

I do have a Sony 51 inch HDTV ... but I am really mad at Sony for the crap they are doing these days ...

I'll stick with Pioneer Receivers ... they use a 5 band equalizer for each channel to equalize the speakers in my living room.

The PIONEER VSX-1015TXK works great. The Pioneer VSX-D912-K ... isn't as fancy but ... works very well and I have two of them ... not being used at the moment. Never had a problem with the 912.

But the Pioneer VSX-915K 7.1 Channel A-V Receiver with S-Video Conversion ... ... seems to have bugs ... first one I got ... front right channel stopped working ... Pioneer fixed it.

After a few months went by ... the right back surround channel wasn't working [I didn't know ... I wasn't using it ... yet] ... that is when I went to Best Buy and bought the Pioneer VSX-1015TX THX Select Certified Receiver ... with a 3 year warranty.

I still have the VSX-915K ... I will get it fixed and sell it on EBAY ... I suppose. The left back surround channel works ... but no output from the right channel. I guess I could sell it ... as is ... ... and yes I would say ... it has a problem ... it is still in warranty ... if somebody is interested.

I have a Peekton 6005 MKII and an ELTA 8883 but I can't find a way to connect them to my Technics Pro logic hifi system, quite tried everything, even in the audio menu of the DVD (it worked before but I moved in another flat and I can't find how I did it) the PEEKTON has 2 more slots for wiring : red and white for stereo (+ the usual 2 center, 2 surround, 2 woofer, 1 Y, 1 Pb/Cb, 1 Pr/Cr, 1 video).
My pro logic works with CDs, TV, cassetes ...
