Best Program to Capture?????

Hello,
Currently i am capturing video from my motorola dct6412 cable box using firewire and capdvhs. I was just wondering if it matters what capturing program you use(do different capturing programs give different results when using firewire?. I use Capdvhs. Is this a good capturing program or is there a better one?

There are tons of other capturing softwares out there. The bottom line is really going to be a mostly subjective perception on your part as to the overall quality of the finished product of your captures.

I recommend you decide what format is your ultimate target before striking out and seeking other software - you *will* find variation in the quality of your captures, no doubt.

doesn't capdvhs just copy the recorded digital transport stream? no analog capturing involved.
