    When I try to load this avi file in TMPNGEnc a pop-up window appears saying that ...avi cannot open or unsapported.
    When I try to convert it with ConertXtoDvd I receive the error "Error while decoding stream #0.0"
    I load it in virtualdub and checked it for errors freezes or bad frames but none were reported.
    Any help,pls?

    g-spot the file and post a screenshot of the results. Without source details it is difficult to diagnose.

    Almost sounds like you don't have the video codec.
    If in doubt, Google it.
