I transferred some VHS tapes to a BENQ DVD+R/RW recorder using a DVD+RW disc.

I then copied this DVD+RW disc via my computer to the Hard Drive using DVD Shrink or sometimes DVD Decrypter if there were multiple programs on the disc.

I then burnt the disc to a DVD-R using sometimes NERO or the DVD Decrypter burner.

My question is: do I have a DVD-R (or DVD Video disc which is compatible with lots of DVD players) or

do I have a DVD-VR disc which is only compatible with new players?

I other words, does the disc I made need to be converted to DVD-R to play on most players?

Hope this isn't confusing. Thanks for any help.

You recorded in DVD+VR format, which is a subset within DVD-Video. Your new disc is a DVD-R with DVD+VR/DVD-Video content. Disc and video format type are separate concepts.

You do not have DVD-VR content.

    Thanks.

Will DVD players generally play this content? That is, DVD+VR content?
