So what legal music download service do you use? Do you use any?

I use ITUNES and play the file and record to wav then compress to mp3 with my soundcard Works just fine (I don't have a ipod - it's a rio s11).

nope, I don't do iTunes and never would. On a side note I can't believe people pay over the top for all the iPod extras stuff either as it's overrated and overpriced

  3. I used to use Itunes, until so many security holes that you could drive a truck through appeared.
Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

Yeah did you hear about that ITUNES HIFI the other day? $350 for speakers with an itune adapter? They aren't even surround sound speakers so you're paying that much money for STEREO speakers????

For less than $10 you can get an audio cable to hook up your headphone jack to the stereo input on your home stereo system and listen to your ipod. Some people are really gullible. And you can get decent stereo pc speakers to use with your ipod for under $50 new or way less used that will sound just fine for a portable music player.

that's exactly what I mean Yoda . You get the idiots who are prepared to buy that kind stuff for silly prices so they just keep on making it

strangely enough I saw this a couple of days ago and I can't believe someone would pay $349 for this

    http://www.apple.com/ipodhifi/

what's even funnier is that with some equipment you can't use other stuff for the daft reason that it's only got an iPod connection. It's hilarious when you see some stuff advertised on TV or the web and they play on the fact you can plug your iPod directly into it

OMG , it's got an iPod connection!!!!!, I must buy it

it's pretty but isn't that what all the Apple products are about, the 'pretty' factor?

Yeah but you can't spread the speakers out. So you're stuck with that distance. I like spacing out speakers to get more stereo imaging. Having them that close permanently doesn't seem very practicle.

ot probably spreads the sounds but I just wouldn't buy it regardless, it's an overpriced, limited uses piece of 'pretty' white plastic. You just gotta love the handles though

I have a couple of friends in the music biz, as well as a few in retail, so I get what I want free on CD, then rip to mp3 or ogg.

Depends on the definition of "legal." 8) Actually, I hardly ever download music anymore ... except for the odd blast-from-the-past hit I overlooked during a massive use of the original Napster client in 1999/2000. I am a subscriber to AllOfMP3.com ... but even there, only download a song or two every now and then. Occasionally, when searching for a rare song, I'll use Limewire or Filetopia.

But, I'm just an old fuddy-duddy. I stopped listening to most music after the 80s. 60s/70s music is more to my liking ... with a dose of classical music, blues, and bluegrass tossed into the mix.

    iTunes? Yes
    iTunes music store? No

Why would I want to pay $10 for an album of 11:1 compressed files with no physical artwork, cd or case? Everything in my iPod is either ripped from my cds, tranfered from my vinyl, recorded by me or downloaded legally free.

    This is the Ipod G70.

Fully SimStimX 8.2f compatible. (including olfactoryShader 4.0 support)

The DRM actually works since you aren't allowed to leave the Ipod
    snappy phrase

    I don't know what you're talking about.

Never. Wait that's harsh...once Apple allows me to do what I want with my music and use the hardware I want, then....maybe.
