  1. I have had some success using tmpgenc to convert avi's to vcd but would like to improve the quality. Can I up the bitrate to enlarge the file size enough to fill the whole cd with a 10 minute clip? Is this the best way given that it will only be played on a pc?

    Thanks!

  2. I guess a follow up to this question is how can I figure out what bitrate would fill up the cd?

    Thanks for any comments

  3. what you should use is the bitrate calculato that can be found in the tools section of this website...here is a link the a basic one..
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/calc.htm
all you do is fill in your info and it calculate it.

by the way...if you are only planing on playing it on a computer...wouldnt Divx be better to use than VCD. you would get much higher quality.

now, if you do make a vcd you will still be able to get a high bitrate...but...since it is only 10min you will be able to get a really high biterate...but with this high of bite rate..you will probably not be able to play it on any standalone DVD player...which basicaly defeates the purpose of making a VCD in the first place
PS: please research more before posting...if you had checked out the tools sections first...you would have found exactly what you needed real quick....but oh well

  4. Thanks for your response air360. I had tried to use the bitrate calculater but couldn't change the "type" from svcd to vcd. Also can I distribute divx on an autorun cd? I have been creating vcd's on an autorun cd with wmp.
