I need some clarification as to what the new Adobe HD-SDI 1080i/p, Adobe SD-SDI NTSC/PAL, HDV settings are, and how the newly introduced 10-bit colour depth ties in to effects these settings...
Are these to be contained within an .AVI format, or is it some sort of quasi broadcast codec??
Does DV even support 10-bit colour depth for that matter??

Thanks..Already read it, and learned about the advantages of 8-bit, 10-bit, and 16-bit..
I was looking for more of a reference page in regards to colourspace, codecs, containers, and how they connect to one another as far as desktop editing and hardware go.
Adbobe Premiere Pro 2.0 supports new settings (SDI and HDV). I'm looking everywhere to find reference material, but can't get anything tied together..
For example,
How do SDI cards interact with the video..Is it simply a transfer of digital data, or is it an integeral part of conversion process?
If SDI cards capture/convert data, is that data uncompressed? I couldn't begin to imagine the space required to do this..How was this done before?
I've fallen behind on my desktop video knowledge. Either that, or somehow broadcast standards are creeping into desktop video. -
