  1. Hi,

I was trying to burn a dvd backup to disc and play it on my jsi 4127 dvd player. The files were the usual bup, ifo etc files. I burned them using nero 6 as a dvd-video file. I put all the files in the video ts folder.

I am able to play this disc on my computer with power dvd but when I put it in my dvd player I get a "supported file not found" error.

I was able to play this disc in another standalone dvd player (jvc) but towards the end of the move I started getting blocks on my screen and freezing.

I am using tdk dvd-r's rated at 16x.

    What is going on?

Bad media .. . or incompatable media . .or too fast a burn speed. Try slowing the burn down to 4x. check out the compatability list in the DVD player section (to the right of this page)

  3. I was thinking that would fix the freezing and blocking at the end of the movie, but what about the fact that its not playing in my jsi at all?

could this all be because of bad media?

I'll buy a new spindle of dvd-r's tomorrow. Fuji is cheap at BJ's and thats what has been working for me for months.

A little while ago I upgraded to nero 7 and then went back to nero 6 because I didnt like it. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

I am using a HP 730 external dvd burner.

  4. UPDATE: My brother had some Fuji 8x discs laying around so I burned the same dvd video files to that disc and it plays fine!

Looks like it was a case of bad TDK 16x media.

TDK's quality control has been crappy for a long time....I don't even buy them anymore...
