I'm working on a video for an old friend of mine, and he's shot it using one of those DVD camcorders. The first mini DVD worked fine, but the second one, I can't see the DVD files that are on it (the .vob's). It just shows up as a blank CD/DVD in any computer I put it in. The weird part is that it will still play with Invervideo WinDVD 8. Any idea on how to get the video off of it?

Just a note, the first DVD that worked was a Maxell DVD-R, and the one that won't work is a Sony DVD-RW

    Just a thought....
Do you need to finalise the dvd in the camcorder. If it is a dvd-rw it has probably not auto-finalised and hence wont show in your drive, but I think win dvd will recognise the files and play them....
You can not rip these dvds without finalising them- best to get the original recorder to do it, I have different recorders and non of them will finalise discs recorded in another machine to leave readable files.
Also I think nero has non-finalised support- you can try and burn a copy to a dvd r and see if the copy is then rippable.
