  1. Hi, posted here before. I'm using a GL-2 firewire to my PC to record Church services for the past year. Post edit with Vegas and and output with DVD Architect. So far, no problems, no frame drops.

Now, I want to add cam#2, and other sources, mix live, and output from the MXProDV's firewire port into the PC instead. I thought this would work, and Vegas Capture would see the incoming feed as no different than it sees the camera today. But I cannot seem to get it to work. Vegas, and other capture utilities, do not recognize the mixer.

Is this possible to do? I do not spend much time editing, and plan to eventually go direct to a DVD deck, but not ready yet.

    thanks

As a test, can you run the feed from one camera through the mixer into the second camera ?

  3. I don't have the second cam yet but I was able to send analog in, and output thru firewire to the camera I have, so I know th efirewire channel works.

I did get a response this morning from Videonics (Focus Enhancements) telling me this model has an older firewire chipset that most PC's will not recognize, but that DV cameras or decks will. Their newer unit MX4DV apparently will work with PCs.

So now I either move up, go thru a Canopus A-D box, or hope someone else can give me something else to try (i.e. drivers, etc...)

    thanks
