I'm trying to make a DVD of two sermons at my church. They are less than an hour each. One video is 11.71G and the other video is 10.16G and the menu is 53.8K. Why can't this video fit. I've been able to fit bigger files to DVDs before. How can I get this to fit.

You have to encode them to mpeg2 first. Given the file sizes you have posted, these appear to be DV avi files straight from the camera. They add up to a total almost 22 GB, which you want to put on a 4.38 GB disc. Something has to give.

DV avi is not DVD compliant. How did you make them fit last time - what encoding or authoring software did you use ?

I use Premiere to edit the videos. On a typical sermon that I do, I usually have over 30Gigs of raw footage before I edit, and just about 2 hour after editing. Then I use Encore to burn to disc. I didn't think 22GB file should be a problem. The only difference with this particular disc that I'm trying to make is that I have two videos, in the menu you can chose which video to play. Ususally its just one continuous file.

There is not really a error message, just that there is 4.7GB of information to be written and only 4.3GD of space.

Use a bitrate calculator to confirm you have used the right numbers when encoding. If you are too big, you can either re-encode to the right size, or use DVD Shrink to make it fit.

As for the menu - read your encore manual or help files.

Is there a way to adjust the bit rate in Encore?

I don't use it, so I can only refer you to the manual for Encore or Premiere
