  1. I recently heard that it was possible for me to play all my divx movies on my dvd player hooked up to my t.v. After reading through tons of media and asking questions to people on irc, I am still in need of help and I hope you guys have the answers. I want to take my divx, 620mb and burn it with nero 5.5 the a cd-r and then play it on my dvd player. What programs do I need and what procedured do I need to do in order to make this successful. Ive heard that I can just use TMPG Encoder, encode it, burn it, and play it and it will work. But after reading through a lot of posts in these forums I have other thoughts. Any imput would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  2. you can find instruction on how to do this by clicking the convert and the edit links to the left.

first you need to convert the DivX to a vcd compliant mpg using TMPGEnc (follow the guide on this site) then you will need to cut the file into 2 peices using TMPGEnc again (follow the guide on this site). once you have the file converted and cut into 2 peices then you can burn your 2 vcd's using burning software like nero. the reason you have to cut the file into 2 parts is because a vcd can only hold 74 minutes of video (or 80 with a 700Mb cd) and your divx is probably longer than that if its 600+ meg. finally IF your dvd player can blay burned cd's then you can play it on your DVD player. good luck
