Hello,
I'm trying to use ConvertXtoDVD to create a DVD quickly. I've been using TMPGenc up to this point, and still do when I want top quality, but for certain videos I just wanna make a decent quality, fast backup.
Anyway, when I load two separate discs into ConvertXtoDVD, it encodes them separetly and the result is TWO titles, like so:
Disc 1 results in
VTS_01_1
VTS_01_2, etc...
Disc 2 results in
VTS_02_1
VTS_02_2
it still creates a DVD-5 of around 4.7 gigs, but has TWO titles where it should be one, since it's only one movie.
Is there any way I can encode to get one title and VOB set, such as...
VTS_01_1
VTS_01_2
VTS_01_3, etc..
Any help would be appreciated. I thought I could reauthor the two sets in TMPGenc DVD Author but I get a funky error when I try to open the disc (a bunch of random characters in a dialog box that doesn't seem to say ANYTHING). Or, if I try to open the files individually, the only ones I can open are VTS_01_1 and VTS_02_1, if I try to open VTS_01_2 or VTS_02_2, etc, I get an "illegal format" error, saying that the source isn't an mpeg 1 or 2 file.
If anyone has any suggestions, please help!
Thanks in advance.
Justin

I have received this error message from time to time. I don't know what causes it, but the fix I've always used has been to get rid of all the IFOs and BUPs that DivxToDVD (and later convertxtodvd) creates (just leaving the VOBs), then renaming the VOB set(s) to VTS_01_* (obviously if I have multiple VTS's I need to copy them to seperate directories) and recreating the IFOs using http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/test.htm#ifoedit . I then import each VIDEO_TS folder and they import fine after that.
Another alternative method which I've never tried but sounds good in theory is to "convert" to MPG using VOB2MPG and then import these MPEGs into TDA.If in doubt, Google it.
