is it legal for a man in calf. to marry his widows sister is the wrong answer .....

people have been declared dead, but then showed up later .... he would be legal for them to marry whomever ..
In other words - there is no law against it, therefore it is legal , as was what the question was....

also -- there is basis for this in the old testament law (cuneiform law) , but i shouldn't get into the religious aspect of it...

also the question on moses and the ark is also wrong .... Moses DID have an ark (2 in fact at least) , the 'Ark of the Covenant' .. which had male only badger skin (1 sex) and a second ark - the ark of bullrushes (1 sex - him).

The Hebrew word aron, by which the word Ark is expressed means only a container - so he may have had more ...

i hate when these so called tests have the wrong answers ---

He would have to be present to marry hiw widow's sister, and it would be pretty obvious to those present if he were dead. If he had been incorrectly declared dead, then when he turned up the wedding the incorrect decloration would be remedied, and he would no longer be dead.

not necessarily, he would not have to be made non dead ... legally ..
the point is -- there is no law against it , therefore it is legal (which was the question) .. something is not illegal because it is improbable.

therefore their answer is incorrect .. or they should word the question better ...

i just did a search and this has happened several times - in some cases he took on a new identity which is also a third possibility ..

face it -- they screwed up ...

As usual, this is not an intelligence test (it does not measure how smart you are). It is an education and logic test. I got 11, but it's because I have seen most of those questions before on a test that one of my Junior High School teachers gave me (hundreds of years ago). So I was educated on those answers, and the others I was able to answer by applying logic.

Never saw the test before, but I've heard most of these questions as jokes. I got an 11. The rest were easy to figure out if you paod enough attention.

By strict definition of the word, if he is still alive, then she is not a widow, regardless of his "official" status. However, it wouldn't surprise me if CA (and other states) issued marriage licenses to dead people.

Check records of people in southern California. It has been done. I'll find the article, but my brother in law sent me a paper clipping of a man who was caught for identity theft.

Aparently, an illegal alien got ahold of a dead man's information. He wad been working under this identity for 10 years and decided to marry. He had been married for another 4 years and had gotten into a vehicle accident and was unconcious. They used his license information to contact his wife, but got ahold of the 78 year old widow instead.

So not only does California issue Marriage licenses to dead people, but they issue drivers licenses to them too.

You can argue it either way. If you want you can say that they are not a widow unless the person is absolutely dead, nothwithstanding any fraud or mistake or whatever. If the person is alive for any reason then he has no widow, period. This is obviously the assumption the question is making but this would deal with possibility not legality. If something is impossible that doesn't make it illegal, obviously not because there's no reason to have a law to prohibit something that cannot happen. That question tells us more about the intelligence of the author than of the test takers.

As for the rest of the questions they are mostly stupid and just exploit plays on words. Like the question that says you have 3 and take away 2 how many do you have? (its not minus 2 like you'd think, its literally you took 2) This is a semantics question and one where 99% of the population would guess the incorrect answer (according to the test) if it weren't for the fact that you knew it was supposed to be a trick.

This whole test reminds me of that refridgerator question. How do you stick a rhino in the fridge? Open the door and put him in. How do you put an elephant in the fridge? Open the door, take out the rhino and then put the elephant in the fridge.

That reminds me. Here's another 'smart test'. Some may have already seen or heard this.

How do you fit an elephant into a mail slot?
