I ordered the firewire card from newegg. I now wish I would have paid $5 more for 2 day shipping. I think it's being shipped via a turtle.
I just got a panasonic p-dv400 on saturday from sears via a pricematch. i can't wait to do hook it up to my firewire port and do some serious editing.

DOH!!!
And FM, on the newsgroups, many people recommend the ADS Pryo. In this thread only the SIIG card was mentioned as being problematic. Where can I get info on ADS issues?
Thanks. -
Use http://www.google.com to search for "ADS Pyro problem", etc. You will find heaps of negative responses...

I got one from Wal-Mart for $40, including a 2-port IEEE1394 card, a firewire cable, and a Ulead VideoStudio 4.0SE software. Sounds a good deal.

I can say this, the ADS Pyro works fine with my setup. A7V133, 1.3 oc'd to 1.33 (10x133) and a bunch of other stuff. All I have to say is Ulead Media Studio Pro 6.0 VE is pretty cool.

I can second the quality of the ADS Pyro card. I got it from The Video Guys (www.videoguys.com), bundled with Premiere 6.0 and some other software for 379 bucks. Best purhcase I ever made online, and the card works great with my Sony digital8 camcorder.

I have an ADS Pyro card, and works very nicely. I did have some problems with Windows 98 SE. I did a fresh reinstall of the OS and the problem was gone.
I also and currently have instaled with Windows XP B2 and works even better. The OS took care of all the drivers and even setup networking drivers, so I'm now buying a second card (in fact I'm buying a firewire scanner) and will setup a firewire network at home. Cool !!! Isn't it ?
