Hi,
I've read a few posts which relate to looping menus - but I just want to clarify something and try to get it through my thick skull.
I have a JPEG that I use as a background and I combine that with an audio clip within Gui for DVDAuthor. I would like this to loop. If I tell it to encode the JPEG for the entire length of the audio clip - everything is fine in all the stand-alone players I can find. If I just encode 1,2,3,etc ... frames (some small number less than the audio clip length) then some players just freeze on the menu and I can't select different buttons. (This is regardless of the amount of pause I use)
If I only encode a small number of frames and don't loop and set the pause to infinite, then I can select buttons - BUT only after the audio completes and not before.
So does this sound correct? Does this mean that I can't loop without doing a full length encode? Does this also mean that I can't select buttons while audio is playing even with and infinite pause? Or am I doing something wrong?
For some reason I thought that I was able to select buttons while looping with a single frame and audio playing with DVDAuthorGui - but maybe my mind is playing tricks on me.
Thanks for any help,
Rob

I know this 'behaviour'. But the matter is not really solved yet. Within the new version (probably today
) I have included a commandline program (insnav.exe from C. Patel) which can add navigation packs to mpeg files with a few video frames and a longer audio. Some users in germany reported much better results with it, but others had still problems. C. Patel and myself are still working on this topic. As it seems, for max. compatibility you should keep video and audio at the same length for the time beeing...
BTW: It would help us very much to have some kind of 'example material' (menu vob file with a few video frames and a longer audio) which definitely works on 'all' stand-alone players.GUI for dvdauthor:

Look for my music video guide , it's within the first 3 page's in the guide section .
The reason the loop dose not work is because of the navigational command's you have used ... they would be incorrect . -
@BJs - do you mean this guide?

That seemed like a guide on how to use DVDAuthorGui followed by PGCEdit, so I'm not sure if I missed the explanation of the looping behavior.
That is the only guide I could find that was authored by you. I searched through the title for all 748 guides for a reference to "music" and couldn't find anything that looked like what you were talking about. -
Same with me
And I thought I'm just to blind to find it...
P.S. The new version 0.99 is out...
You may try it with 'Use insnav for still menus with audio' (perm. settings) and 'Loop with jump menu' (project settings).GUI for dvdauthor:
