    Hi

I'm obviously missing some fundamental concept here. I'd like to have a button that will play the movie (or open a submenu). I want this button to be animated. However I can't seem to get the animation button to show. Its always disabled.

    Suggestions??

OK, I just figured out what you mean. Select "Project" on the Settings Menu, and on the "General Settings" tab, check "Animated Menus." Finally, click the "Save" button.

RESOLVED. I had to install some additional programs. (avisynth, etc).

Maybe I didn't need to install anything, just follow the steps above

No, you need avisynth installed too for animated buttons/menus.

The setting for animated menus may be turned on by default when GFD is installed. I don't remember. I don't use many animated buttons/menus for my projects, so I unchecked "Animated Menus" in my Permanent Settings.
