Hello everyone...

I just got a LiteON LWV5005 with a July 2005 production date. Will the current "tools" for Region & MV work on this unit? If so; does the f/ware need to be changed first? And can I add a HD to it?

I need your advice & help with this.

You need to see what you have for firmware first. That can be determined by the serial # on the setup screen. The third set of 4 digits is the system firmware revision level.

Anything >0098 won't hack and can't be downgraded AFAIK yet.

The interface for the HD doesn't exist on that motherboard.

This will get the hack for you.

thank you for your reply...sorry for the delay..been very busy...

anyway...I finally setup the player and got the following info..

the s/n is 0102-xxxx-0098-xxxx(105-010D)...

and in going through the recording menu...I have 2/4/6 hrs options...

so...what should I be looking at next re:mods

its been so long since I've done this, but I have a hacked 0098 (if thats even the significant number) I forgot all of this, hopefully guitarman can help you
