i've used vobblanker, and after removing the extras from the dvd Natural Born Killers which is blanking all VTS from 3-11 I got the movie as unplayble in PowerDVD. So i am wondering what is another way to remove these extras from the DVD without corrupting the actual dvd.

    Would dvdshrink be recommended?

    Thanks

If you just want a movie only version (no extras, no menues) then DVD Shrink is a good option. I have used it to do this for a long time, and still do. Like you, I have found Vobblanker to be problematic, and have never been able to play it's output. I know others have had happier experiences with it.

Other alternatives include titlesetblanker, DVD Rebuilder Pro and DVD Remake / Pro

Well if it were me I'd just delete the vobs for everything except the main movie. Then I'd open up the IFOs for each of those titlesets in IFOEdit and go through each title and hit delete playback, then hit save. Everything will function normally except when you play an extra the screen will go black for a second and then return to that menu. As long as you don't touch the VIDEO_TS.vob and IFO or the ones for the main movie, then there is no way you can screw anything up.

Maybe there are automated programs that accomplish the same thing but its really not very difficult just using IFOEDit.

Yeah when i just want the movie i don't do menu's.
And i use VobBlanker all the time, love it!!
It has informed me in certain instances that removing certain things could result in a non working menu or dvd.

try the trial of dvd remake. i use dvd remake pro for all my dvd editing now. it does most things and is very easy to use for what you are doing. you can SEE what you are removing ect. you can even add stuff easily. ive done a few movie only backups KEEPING the menu.

well i have done this many times. my reason is even since buying dvd remake i no longer shrink any dvds unless they only need 10% or less shrinking. so i split the disc into two. one with the movie and one with the extras. i keep the menus on both as the disc was intended to be. i know many people dont like the menus ect and find them a waste of time but if you want no menu then buy a video lol. there are a few reasons other than keeping the original look of the dvd to keep the menus also as mention for audio/subttitle/scene selection menus for one.
