Specs: WinTV 350, ATI 9100, AMD Athlon 1900, WinXP SP2 with DX 9
For some (unknown) reason I'm having quite a bit of trouble getting my WinTV 350 to display on my television via the S-video out on the card. I'm getting both left and right audio on the TV but no video...the TV screen just says "Invalid signal."
I've tried to get it working with both the WinTV2k application that comes with the card as well as with GBPVR but it's a no go...same thing happens every time. For the record, I can pause/record/play/watch live TV on my computer with WinTV2k...I just can't get the television to display video.
I've run through the uninstall/reinstall process that's mentioned on the Hauppauge website for the drivers as well as the application, but still nothing. I even tried sending the TV S-video from my ATI 9100 but got nothing.
I'm at my wits end, and didn't go to bed till almost 3 am last night trying to get this this cranking. Am I missing something really basic here?
Thanks for any and all help!
Travis

Are you using direct S-video to S-video in on the TV?
If you're using the adapter from S-video out on the card, to composite, then select composite in your display options for second device (the TV).Cheers, Jim

What reboot said and you do have your graphics card set for a second monitor? If you are getting just the computer screen but no video, then that's probably still in the graphics card settings. Look for 'Overlay' settings.
And welcome to our forums. -
In GBPVR, did you set the Hardware Playback Device to PVR-350 on the Playback tab of config?
Cheers, Jim

Hi all! Thanks for the responses.
As for reboot's questions...I'm using the S-video out to an S-video in on an Onkyo surround sound system, then to my television's RCA video. Also, in GBPVR, I have the Hardware Decoder Device set to the PVR-350.
redwudz: I'll check on the Overlay settings in my ATI 9100 video card. I've updated the drivers and the ATI Catalyst system recently so I'll be sure to double-check that and post back.
Thanks again! -
Wait...you're using the PVR-350's hardware out, yet you are worried about overlay on the ATI?
Sort out which output you're using, then adjust settings for that.
If you're using the ATI's S-video out, set gbpvr's playback output to "None...use software decoder".
If you're plugging the PVR-350's output to the Onkyo, then forget any ATI settings, they don't do squat.Cheers, Jim
