  1. I need to deinterlace an avi file from 29.76 to 23.76 but the filter options in Vdub are confusing to me. The supposed best one(blend) leaves the framerate at 29 so which one should I select to bring it down to 23.76?

  2. Hi-

Deinterlacers deinterlace and don't change the framerate. An IVTC changes the framerate. The IVTC in VDub sucks. You'll want to use the IVTC's available in AviSynth.

However, the chances are good that this AVI of yours has been already been resized and can no longer be IVTC'd. And what makes you think the framerate is supposed to be 23.976fps anyway? You can't just go around blindly changing the framerate because you feel like it. If you can post a sample of this AVI somewhere, we can have a look to see if it can be IVTC'd and suggest how to go about it.
