pal to ntsc & picture detail

so im converting 2 minute of a pal dvd with tmpgenc to NTSC
output looks good @ bitrate 3mbps
just that the image is bit smoothed out, missing the film grain & some fine details.

can anyother encoder keep more detail or am i getting the best out of this.

any recommendations? settings?

Might want to try DGIndex -> Avisynth &/or then optionally VirtuatDub (if you're not comfortable with Avisynth for resize). Search the forum threads - there were a few Avisynth script examples for this just the other day if I remember correctly.
