hello i ordered a new samsung Flat panel lcd hdtv and was just wondering about what hookups i should be using to get the best PQ. i have a comcast dvr cable box.

I know HDMI is the best connection for watching digital channels and high definition channels. What about standard definition analog channels, would i get better quality on SD using HDMI connections or using another connection. And if so, what connection is the best for this?

I have read that analog cable channels do not look so great using component/DVI/HDMI compared to using composite or S-video .... or better yet just using the "raw" RF and the tuner of the TV.

I have a Motorola cable box with Comcast cable and my analog channels look best from the "raw" RF using the tuner of my DVD recorder. I am sure it would be the same if I had the "raw" RF connected directly to the TV using it's tuner.

HDMI and DVI are great for digital sources, not analogue ones. RGB / YUV (Component) are the best alternatives for analogue

  4. A lot of better large screen TV, has the appropiate filter on the analog hook up, to correct for color and noise in analog signal.

On my TV, cable looks better on RF in.
