I have an hour long project based on hi-res still photos (JPGs), with a lot of fades, pans, zooms, and transitions. I need help tweaking all of the variables (CBR vs. VBR, interlaced vs. progressive, resolution, aspect ratio, etc.) in order to optimize the video quality. Intended end use is on standard DVD-player (will eventually want to make versions optimized for PC-only and for HDTV as well).

Biggest issues seem to be with flicker (especially in warm-color areas) and choppy motion during pans and zooms. And, of course, I want to maximize clarity. No audio problems.

I'm using Vegas 6 and ProCoder (with FrameServer as an intermediary between the two). I can choose to render final product using either Vegas's own rendering process (MainConcept), or using ProCoder's rendering process. I've tried both, with variable results.

Thank you.
