    Hello.

I'm using Dvd Shrink for long time now. today I backup a disc of seinfeld season 1&2, and after I use the "perform deep analysis" for the first 2 discs, the option suddenly disabled when I tried to backup the 3rd and 4th discs.

    Anyone knows why it happened?

    Thank's!!

  2. If the compression level is at 100%, deep analysis will be disabled because there is no compression required.

Check your compression level and see what it's at !

These options are only availble when the original disk will not fit on a DVD5.
So it is onle available when you need to de some compression.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

Speaking of "Deep analysis" in Shrink I have made several tests to compare results with and without analysis.
I made several recordings of the same films with percentages all the way down to 60% & discovered that there was NO difference in results. They all looked the same wether deep analysis was used or not.
I'm sure that you will think that it's because my tv is not very good or something is below par in my playback system. I don't think so.
The tv is a Panasonic 27" flat screen & the dvd is a Philips 642.
I tested about 15 different films of all types & they all looked the same.
I've cut my copy time in half with no loss in quality.

no.. the dvd size is more than 6GB.. so compression level is far less than 100%.. this is why I wonder. Now I tried to do ISO mode in DVDDecrypter, and now the option is available again in DVDShrink..

So I wonder what the problem was.

Perhaps the disc has already been fully analyzed...? DVD Shrink won't give you the option to re-analyze a disc that's already been done. However, if you re-rip a disc and load the new image/files into DVD Shrink it will see it as a new disc and allow you to perform a deep analysis again. Usually it will give you a message that it's already been analyzed though if you click the "analysis" button, but it also greys out the option in the "backup" options area.

Also, like the prior poster indicated, if a particular disc is already small enough to fit your target media size, DVD Shrink won't let you do deep analysis. Similarly, it is also possible that the disc(s) you're having trouble with contain data that isn't compressible, like DVD-ROM content or something of the sort. DVD Shrink should indicate which items aren't compressible in the compression settings area if you have the correct part of the navigation tree selected. And of course, audio isn't compressible either so you may need to remove one or more audio tracks on certain discs to achieve the DVD5 size.

it wasn't the same disc.. it was another disc, but I think this was the reason that this option was disabled. As I wrote, when I make an ISO file from the discs than the option was available again.. still didn't find a solution for the 'regular' convertion with DVDDecrypter.
