I am trying to provide a very simple encoding set up for a client that only needs to encode .wmv files at 2 bitrates from DVD.
I have a brand new machine that has rip (Smart Ripper?) software - that works fine to get the vob files. The machine has Windows Media Encoder and that works fine as well.
I need some kind of software that will let me queue a batch of vob files to encode - possible 2 or 3 movies worth at a time – hopefully even at both speeds
One person that I asked said I need custom written asp scripts - but I would think there has to be some software available that already does this.
What is this software called? I looked through the Tools section - but they all seem to be more complex than what I am looking for.
I am a bit of a lost newb - so any and all help it appreciated!
Thanks.

Working directly with VOB files may not be the best option. VOB files can contain more than just video, more than just one video, and are not really designed to convert directly. Although there are applications that can do it, you cannot always predict the outcome. I would consider in intermediate step using something like VOB2MPG to extract the mpeg video files first.
That said, ProCoder and Autodesk's Cleaner both have the concept of watch folders - folders that are monitored by the application. Once you finish copying to these folders, they automatically begin encoding.Read my blog here.
