I'm fairly new to all this. I've download DVD lab Pro and it worked great for a couple of DVDs I needed to make. Now I got two more and I'm stuck and I was hoping someone here could help me.

For the first one I have a DVD that I recoreded from my DVR, so I have the VOBs but they need to be edited. What program could I use? I tried DVD Shrink, but then DVD Lab is giving me error messages that the file is corrupted and then if I let it fix it it removes 500bytes or so. And then it's saying open GOPs and that chapter might not start accurately, which is a problem because I want to have a scene selection menu. I tried to burn it anyway, but the DVD is unwatchable, stops all the time, can't be fast forwarded, etc. So could anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks so much if anyone can help.

I daresay that the problem is that you've possibly cut on something other than I frames and since DVDShrink cannot reencode, something has gone awry.

I would try VOB2MPG to convert back to an MPEG file and then use "proper" MPEG editing software to do your editing. Most decent softwares (products by womble are highly regarded) should just re-encode the rest of the GOP around where you have made your cuts.

IIRC dvd-lab prefers elementary streams (aka properly prepared assets) but it should just ask you if you want to demux your MPEG file.

This thread https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=289795 is a sticky at the top of this forum and may assist you also.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Oh YES! That worked perfectly! Thank you sooo much, jimmalenko, I'd hug you if you were here. I was a bit worried at first because the mpg wasn't de-interlaced, but DVD lab took care of that and it works beautifully. Thanks again I really appreciate this!
