    Wotcha folks,

I'm just getting back into messing around with video after a long time off. I'd like to make my subbing more efficient as before i was using a whole bunch of diferent progs and generally making things hard for myself.

Anyway I'd like to get ppls thoughts on what is the quickest methods of timing new subs from scratch. I was timing with SSA using a WAV file I'd rip from the DVd's audio. This was very accurate but took ages!

That's the way I do it. Why is it taking you ages to do it?

I can sync subs in about 3/4 of the movie's duration (working at a leisurely pace).
    ICBM target coordinates:
    26° 14' 10.16"N -- 80° 16' 0.91"W

If you're talking about typing the actual captions, there are a few programs for this that might/might not help -- the difference to me is mainly in the way the interface is set up to make it faster/easier. Some are listed in the tools section.

FWIW, when typing in CC or TT on the fly I believe they use special keyboards that work basically like taking shorthand during dictation, same for court reporting... Instead of using keys for each letter of common words, just have to hit 1 key. If you do this often, might be worth looking into, or maybe picking up a programable keypad etc...

It was more a case of me being quite pedantic, I would be checking and rechekcing the timing so it was spot on. Then again it was very accurate, i have tried a few other ways recently and they don't ofer quite the same level of accuracy.
