Will different DVD programs allow me to watch DVDs on my computer from regions other that 1 (I live in the USA)? I just bought a DVD burner so I am not into buying a new drive, I am willing to hack it but I would perfer not to.

Will DVD programs like PowerDVD or VLC allow me to change my region code so I can play DVDs from region 2?

I am asking because I just saw that the second season of House M.D. is going on sale on Amazon on Feb 27th, 06. All the episodes have not even been aired on TV in the US and I am not much of a waiter when I dont have to.

My DVD burner is available at: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16827151095

I also have a 2nd DVD-ROM drive but I do not remember what manufactuer made it (I bought that one about 3yrs ago).

    Thanks,

    Ben

Most DVD-ROM/Burners allow you to change the region 5 times, then it becomes permanent.

Look for DVD43 in the tools section. It's a tool that runs in your tray that will remove region coding without making any changes to your hardware. It will also remove some forms of copy protection from the DVD. I've used it on some region 2 discs and it works great.

There are other programs out there that do the same thing.
