  1. I am having some severe problems with a few files. I have a few AVI files that when I click on them to open them up, the blue screen of deatch (as I call it) appears on my screen. The screen is the one that starts dumping all the memory before it shuts totally down. These are files I know have worked, but suddenyl they do that. When I try to back them up to VCD using Nero, it gets to 32% of encoding the file and then it freezes. It eventually comes up with a message in Nero saying that nero has encountered a problem and needs to shut down........

The blue screen says to uninstall any recently installed hardware, well I have not installed any hardware for about the last 12 months. So does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try to fix this annoying problem.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

It's likely bad codecs, conflicting codecs, and such. It really doesn't have much to do with SVCD authoring at all.

If you installed any codec packs recently, uninstall them, then use codec sniper, DXMan, and so on, and wipe out all the codec entries, and reinstall only the ones you need.
