Hi.
My questions are:
1. Can you burn video files ( Which is in .avi format ) to DVD without converting the video files?
2. And watch it on a DVD player that plays DivX, Xvid, MPEG-4?
Thx in advance.

if the avi is divx, yes and yes. just burn as a data dvd with any burning tool. some few divx players may not support divx on dvd media though.

actually i have a dvd player that plays divx and xvid and yes it plays straight from cdr.
and as far some of the movies not playng every now and then i upgrade the firmaware in my player (download from support website)and no problems at all
ps:the player is philips dvp 642 -
Just burn as data dvd? not as DVD-Video? ( just wanna confirm )
If anyone know:
When using nero burning rom and burn as data dvd, before the burning starts a box appears with four optional button, which one should I click?
1.What about video .mp4 files with x.264 codec?
2.It's the same burning method as the avi. right?
Thx in advance. -
burn as data dvd, iso or iso/udf.
four optional button? what options?? i don't use nero.
1,2: no, it wont work on divx/xvid players. -
divx and xvid are mpeg-4 so it probably plays mpeg-4 files that use the divx and xvid codecs only.

Burn as data, not video. You won't get a menu, so your files will play in sequence. Just do a chapter advance to got o next file.
The user manual that came with my LiteOn 1107 does not specify whether it needs to be just on
cd-r or if it can also be on dvd as well. All I can say is....try it and see.TANSTAAFL -

You can put subtitles on the same disk. Most players like them to have the same name as your video but with the right sub extension.

My LiteOn will play divx/xvid from a dvd-r.
What handyguy said. Manual says the subtitles need to be same file name, only with a .txt extension instead of .avi.TANSTAAFL -
Ok. Now i'm ready to burn.
1. I add the files to nero burning rome and not into a mapp right?
2. Ready to burn, but before the burning starts a box appears with two optional button:
button 1: Burn with multisession
button 2. Burn without multisession
- which one should I press?
3. Is it true that if you're gonna burn as data-dvd or video-dvd, with the lowest burning speed as possible ( 2x ) and the result will be good? -
button 2. Burn without multisession
write at any speed you want, test & see how they work.
