Backing up the DVD only works on my computer and not on a DVD PLAYER

Hey first off id like to thank you guys for reading this post and I appreciate any help, thank you.

I have a DVD Region 1 movie ...
When I put it in my standalone Panasonic DVD Player it works fine.
I tried to make a copy using DVD Shrink to make the ISO and then Nero for burning the ISO , but when I put the copied disk into my standalone Panasonic DVD player it wont play... but when i put it into my computer dvd player it works... Does anyone know what I should do or what I am doing wrong ? Howcome the backup only works on my computer but not on my standalone dvd player?

P.S. My dvd player supports DVD-R DVD-RW etc etc so I dont see what the problem is??

Sounds like a media problem.....Download dvdinfopro and get the media code for the disc.

im kind of new to this ... what should I do with the program?

its wierd the backup works just like the original dvd on my computer but on regular standalone dvd players it doesnt work... any ideas ?

Here is the free version of dvdinfopro(free)

when you run the program go through the icons on the top and select the one that says media. This will give you the media ID (ex MCC004, TY002, etc) Then let us know what it says. With this media code we can tell you if the blank media you are using is any good or poor quality media. Also, how old is your dvd player? What brand/model is your player? Older players do have problems reading burn discs sometimes.

Too me it doesn't seem that reliable. Try using TY media or other high quality media

Yeah all the 8x UME01 media seems to have reliability problems, from what I can see.

I myself can't suggest any good dvd-r media, because I have only used +r media.

not so much the brand "Comp USA" but the maker of the disc themselves. Compusa doesn't make their own disc. They buy someone elses product and put compusa on them.

The file size is too big which is why it will not playback in your standalone dvd player. Either use a DUAL LAYER dvd media to burn that 6.8 GB ISO IMAGE or REAUTHOR it more in DVD SHRINK to create a ISO IMAGE & then use DECRYPTER to burn the ISO IMAGE. You may only have the option of choosing only the MAIN MOVIE in order for the file to fit on a SINGLE LAYER DVD MEDIA.. In other words you would only get the MAIN MOVIE with no menu functions, no subtitles and no other audio options.

I would suggest you take a look at the guide section on backing up your DVD's. That way you'll have a better understanding the process.

DVD Shrink's default action is to, well, shrink. If you ripped with DVD Shrink the first time then it will make the video fit a single layer disc (if it can). It can then make an ISO of the smaller version of the disc.

DVD Decrypter, on the other hand, makes a 1:1 copy of the disc, without any shrinking. This is why the ISOs are different sizes. Use Shrink to again reduce the size of the DVD files and output an ISO, then use DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO to good quality media.
