You can get a cheap used video card with a tv output on auction sites for a great price if you don't need it for high powered gaming.

Well depends on the card and your tv/vcr/dvd recorder.

Most video cards with tv out tend to only have svideo out. Which means your vcr/tv will need a svideo input. Or you will need a realatively cheap svideo-to-rca cable adapter so you can plug into to your regular inputs.

Of course if you want sound you'll need a ysplitter to output your headphone sized output jack to your input on your tv (if its a mono tv/vcr just use the left plug or get a joiner that can make stereo into mono).

Then you'll be set. These cables and adapters generally don't cost much more than $5 or $10 USD apiece and if you've been doing a lot of home stereo stuff over the years chances are you have these laying around somewhere.

Depends on how much you want to spend. Set a budget and go from there. If you're not going to do a ton of pc gaming get the cheapest you can find with an svideo card. Ati or nvidia - doesn't really matter if your not going to do high gaming with it.

Though you'd propbably want one with at least 64mb ram on it if you were going to do SOME gaming. I'm sure 128mb cards are pretty cheap for the older generation models.
