I am in the process of ripping all my Friends DVD's to my Media PC, and converting to mp4 using Nero Recode 2.
So far I have managed all with no problems, but I have reached a DVD that seems to be playing up. My normal process is to use DVD decrypter to rip the files to the hard disk then use nero to convert to the four compressed episodes.
With this disk I get the four vob files, three which are 1,048,574 KB and one which is 578,730 KB. If I load these into Nero, I end up with one disabled and the other three seem to be the full four episodes split over three files. Obviously if I try to convert it, I get four episodes divided over the three new files.
All of the other DVD's that I have looked at have the same structure (the three big and one small vob files) and all these have ripped and converted ok. Also whenever I have loaded the previous DVD's, Nero picks up that there are four episodes etc.
This DVD is not an original. It was copied off a friends, but then so was one of the others which worked.

I seem to have all the files that I think should be there. vobs, ifo and bups.
I have three Video_TS files (an IFO a VOB and a BUP)
Three VTS_01_0 files (again an IFO a VOB and a BUP)
One VTS_01_0 vob file which is small
and VTS_01_1 through 4 (the three large and one small vob files) -
Have you tried shrink to isolate the episodes, create a single DVD for each title using re-author mode? Just a guess but hasn't failed that I'm aware of.
