Even though on the forum header it says no questions about ripping dvd's, this is kind of related, but there's no other place to put it! I work for a nightclub that runs all video, and we primarily use DVD's. We ran into a problem with people ripping off discs, scratched, etc, so I started copying & reencoding onto vcd. ONLY PROBLEM - the quality sucks! I bought a pioneer a03, and found a spot for blank dvdr for $2.85 each. Now here's my real dilemma - When I rip with smartripper (at the same time skipping over the bad songs we don't use) of course it rips to the set of .vob files. I cannot find any burn software that I can drag n drop the ripped files into and just do a new burn of them. The only way I am succeeding is to continue to go song by song and encode into it's own .mpg file, which is way to time consuming for me. I don't want to just do a raw copy of the entire disc, can anyone steer me in the right direction? I would be eternally grateful........

You can rip selected songs you like using rip chapter selection option in Smartripper. No need to encode since you burn as DVD but you will need an authoring software to assembly all songs together. I suggest DVDit PE 2.5 (retail for $599.00).

OK, I tried dvdit 2.5 PE, and it will not let me load the .vob files from smart ripper (or anything besides mpg or equiv.) anyone else got any ideas for me? Or did I severely miss something in DVDit?
