  1. Trying to convert an AVI file (717,620KB) to a DVD format. I have NERO but says it is too large. I also tried ULEAD MOVIE FACTORY but it also says it is too large to convert to DVD. Any ideas?

Give us a Gspot screenshot ( Click here for instructions) so we can have details about your source AVI.

...or use a real encoder for AVI to mpg encoding (where you can specify what bitrate to use). If you want to use a oneclickwonder, divx2dvd seems the best option in that area.

Sounds like Nero tried to transcode (translate / re-encode) into MPEG2 and found that your AVI is so well compressed, the MPEG2 size will exceed the capacity of your DVD media, thus "too big".

You will need to use a different tool that allows you to adjust the bitrate and other parameters so you can produce smaller output from the transcoding process. However, we'll need to know the format of the file you're trying to burn (including the GSpot report, as GadgetGuy said) then we'll be able to recommend something.
