DVDShrink is also an authoring program. There are other programs out there which can outdo DVDShrink in this area, since DVDShrink's authorship capabilities are pretty limited.
However, again, your problem may be simply one of file compatibility. You may need to convert those files to a format that most rippers can read. Id so, we can suggest some programs to do this. Or, it may be one of a copy protection scheme. DVDShrink cannot handle some of the most recent new discs being released, and it is no longer being updated to be able to handle those. If this is the case, we will suggest different programs than the first example above. Your problem may be one of a dirty disc, or a bad pressing. If so, you can clean the disc, or you can return it for an exchange and ask for a new one (if it was badly pressed).
There are other possibilities.
So, give a bit more info, and you will probably get some advice that is "effective," instead of some vague sort of "Program X is sort of like DVDShrink is..." which may yield a program that is no better at resolving your present issue.

hi
thanks for short reply bruce lol
the files ive got were avi files recoded to dvd with winavi then come out at 4.55gb i need a program to shrink it down a bit
dvd shrink will say invalid data in file error in one of the vobs or sometimes it will only show up one of my avi files that been recoded to dvd
i know the files work fine because they will play ok in my sony dvd player on a dual layered dvd but i dont want to use dual layered dvds the whole time
what other programs do u suggest
thanksnuff respect -
WinAVI strikes again . . . .
If you have them on dual layer, why not rip them again using dvd decrypter, then shrink them. It might fix WinAVI's screw ups.Read my blog here.
