I just don't know if this is a video card or cpu problem not being able to cope up with the requirement of the game "Medal of Honor, Pacific Assault". I checked those requirement before buying the game and my machine I think exceeded the minimum to play it decently.

I stopped playing it coz it was just not smooth or the framerate was slow I think. It's very frustrating!

My video card is 9600 Pro Ati Radeon series with 128 mb of memory and AGP interface. Would buying a better performing AGP video card with 256 mb help or would it just be advisable to overclock the P4-2.8 Gig CPU? (CPU and motherboard supposed to be overclockable according to the manual)

If I go for the video card what would you guys recommend? (My motherboard can take only AGP)

    Thanks

  2. Something might be amiss. I have a lowly 2.4 p4 with 512 memory and a 9200 ATI pro 256 meg video and it can play MOH PA at 800x600 fluidly even if not over clocked.

I just tested Call of Duty 2 at medium settings with no over clock at 800x600 and it was quite smooth. With over clocking I can do 1024x768 at high quality with perfect smoothness.

BTW I'm not a "gamer" but I just can't resist the MOH and COD titles

Have you tried the game settings? You might have to tweak your bios or even o/clock.

I wonder if the 128 meg difference in your video card and mine makes the difference.

Just like you I'm also not a gamer but I cannot just resist this games(MOH and COD) too. I could play the previous versions of these games with everything turn on and at high res without a problem but with this version I have to go 800 x 600 and turn off some details but still I'm not happy with the result.

And another thing that I do with this machine is I turned off other application running in the background even when I don't play games.

By the way thanks for the reply offline!

I don't know what you're talking about but I swear I have not read "redwudz" thread before. If it happens that my thread is exactly the same as his, sorry it's not my intent to copy somebody stuff.

By the way thanks but no thanks for your help!!!
