  1. How does vegas compare with Premiere Pro V2? Which one is better at video editing & DVD and upcoming Blu-Ray Disc authoring?

Both have demos - try them out. Both work in different ways, have different interfaces, and suit different people. Both are very capable of editing for DVD and both have HD editing capabilities. Both have strong followings here. PP 2.0 is very fresh, so expect bugs and a point release in a couple of months. Vegas 7 will probably roll out later this year.

I use Vegas 6c, and wouldn't switch to Premiere Pro for my own reasons.

My advice, download the demos and try them out. See which one suits best. Although, if you don't have a HD camera or aren't doing 3d at HD res, Blu-Ray will just be a big, almost empty space.

Neither, yet. Both will encode HDV and MPeg2 at HD resolutions..

  4. I wasn't expecting Blue-Ray Support since the specs for it were just recently completed, but was expecting HD file support which both have. As far as features, are there particular features that are exclusive to either Vegas or Premiere?

I have both Vegas & adobe Pre. Vegas is a winner . PP2 striped to much away. I would use 6.5 than the new ones pp1 ,pp2. Either Vegas or 6.5. Until the new one comes out with Blu-ray support.

Features are similar but target user and market focus differ. It all depends on what you want to do. You can find many forum discussions using advanced search.
