HP DVD740e - I can't change the Book type

Has anyone been able to do that with this burner?
In Nero, the option to do so is greyed out. DVDInfoPro says my burner doesn't support it.

Does that mean I'm out of luck?

I've been in contact with HP's "support"
So far, I've gotten nothing but the run-around from them.

your drive is probably a rebadged LITEON drive. i saw your post at cdfreaks.com. this may sound silly but when using dvd decrypter did you try using the bitsetting under the liteon tab? if you click on tools then drive and then click on change booktype. there should be a tab for LITEON drives. see if you're able to use the bitsetting feature. if you are not able to use it then buy another drive or return that HP. It could be possible that your drive just does not support bitsettting.
