    Hi,
I just bought an I/O Magic External DVD Burner from Staples a few months ago and have been using it quite a bit.

However, after burning many DVDs (the methods used to burn them vary but I've burned a few ISOs, a few VIDEO_TS folders, and reauthored a couple of VOBS with TDA [for a menu]), I've realized that some of the DVDs periodically freeze during playback. This usually starts happening after about 5-10 minutes of play. I have 4/~7 DVDs that don't do this, but several of them do.

Do you think it's a source file problem, a media (I'm using TEON DVD-R 8x) problem, or a NERO problem (the program I used to burn most of the DVDs).

Oh, just a note, I played the DVDs on a variety of different hardware (e.g. Playstation 2, Curtis DVD Player, and Computer). Since the video skips at different places on all of these media, I'm not sure whether or not it's actually a source file problem.

Also, one of the most major cases of skipping occurred when I used Intervideo DVD Copy to shrink a 5 gig DVD to fit on my available media. The menu turned out to be also buggy after shrinking. Is this supposed to happen? Should I try shrinking a 7 gig ISO file (with menus, extras, and everything)? I mean, if I'm backing up the entire disc, there shouldn't be a menu linking problem should there?

One last thing: if it is a media problem, and I decide to try again with a different type of disc (i.e.PLAYO DVD-R 8x), can I just use Intervideo to copy it again? Or do I have to create an ISO then copy it?
Or do I have to start over from the orig. source file?
