Hello, I am using an LG DVD Rom on my computer (HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR-8163B (16X/48X) OL23) and burnt a couple of copies to back them up. They worked just fine on my friends computer but here on my computer, Windows doesnt detect the DVDs only. It says the drive is empty. I am using Windows ME and the latest edition of PowerDVD .

and the funny part is that some of the DVDs that didn't work on his comp are working just fine here. Does anyone figure what could be wrong? Someone said my Win ME doesn't support the UDF of those disks, can anyone please elaborate more on that?

    Much thanks, Cheers!

P.S. - You've got very efficient mods around, Respect.

Could also be a media problem. Not all drives like all media types.

That was my original assumption. You may want to try just a blank disc and see if your windows ME recognizes it as a blank disc. If it does then it might be a problem with the way the disc is encoded.

He asked for someone to elaborate on UDF. I thought he could read it himself.

If it is an UDF issue, burn your discs in a different format.
