    Hi there, I've used this site for a long time but have always been able to find the answers I needed for video editing from the different guides and all that. But now I need to just ask a bit of advice on how to go about upgrading a DVD.

    I have and hour and a half of footage that has been spread onto two DVDs by whoever made it. What I want to do is take the video track and resync up a better audio source (its from a concert) instead of the camera soundtrack. I need to make sure that no video quality loss occurs until the very end if I have to compress it onto one DVD.

    I am comfortable with the ripping process (eg DVD Decypter) but would like to know how to take those vob files into a format that can then be brought uncompressed (or at least at a very low level of compression) into Adobe Premiere pro so as to sync up the audio in there and do any editing on the video I need to do. Then I don't know what compressor to use to get it lossless out of there. And then how can I bring this video file into DVD lab Pro to do the authoring in there. I am then happy enough to burn a dual layer DVD in there and then use DVD shrink to compress it slightly to one disc (total footage is only 1hr 40 or so so will fit on a 4.7 disc).

    I hope I have provided enough info, any questions please ask. In summary, I have 2DVDs, want to turn them into uncompressed video files to bring into Premiere and make one large video file with an upgraded sound track. Then how do I export a high-quality movie and make it into DVD files for working in DVD lab pro, eventually ending up on 1 auhtored 4.7 single layer DVD.

    Thanks very much and thanks for all the help I've gotten from these forums and the site over the years.

    virtualdubmpeg2 open mpg(make one mpg with vob2mpeg) -> output as as dv-avi,huffyuv,uncompressed.
    adobe premiere pro -> output as dvd mpeg2 using some mpeg2 plugin or frameserve to an mpeg2 video encoder with Debugmode FrameServer.
    import the mpg in dvd-lab.

    or
    edit dvd vobs directly with mpeg video wizard.
