I have a new Sony DVD Handycam 602E which records on a DVD-RW 8" disc. Is there any means by which I can transfer the recorded video to my computer. I understand that the recorded clips are in UDF format and the disc does not read on the computer. It however can be played on PowerDVD on my computer which operates on Windows XP. Is it necessary to buy a DVD recorder to copy the video to a standard DVD-R disc so that I can re-use the present 8" disc for further recording on my handycam. Any suggestions for conversion from the present format to the computer shall be appreciated.![]()

P.S.: The 8" DVD discs for handycams are expensive here in Bahrain.

It probably has something to do with Multiple sessions and/or UDF version# (1.02 vs. 1.5 vs. 2.01 vs. 2.5)
Use ISOBuster to extract the VOB's and then whatever your app of choice is for reauthoring. If the files on disc aren't VOB's, but are instead VR format files, make sure your app can accept those.
