Since I downloaded and upgraded from 2.0.0.2, I've found one little quirk with it that was fixed or worked better in the last version. When you STRIP out the audio tracks that you don't want, I've found on most backups I've been doing that it doesn't ELIMINATE these tracks completely i.e. in the older version when i played (checked) the blanked dvd after using Blanker these eliminated audio tracks were "greyed out" and couldn't be accessed. Now they're still there, albeit having a zero content. I find this slightly annoying as it means that I can't actually skip these tracks, like when i played the processed dvd in any of my standalone players. It also means that you can actually switch to them from a dvd's menu, if you so choose. I liked the way this was dealt with in the previous version. Is it a bug?
That being so, I like the fact that subtitles can now be eliminated here, but there is a "stub" left on these also. Is this the way it was intended or am I doing something wrong or is there a setting that I haven't checked?
Any info would help.
Thanks,
Cykedout

In my opinion now it is gone backwards. Just checked a backup that I did in my dvd player and it doesn't skip over a blanked audio track anymore as the previous version did. It's still there and still accessible. I'd call that a "bug"!

Hi-
Do you have more than 1 PGC in the same VTS? Then they all will have 2 audio tracks, even if the other ones might be empty. Making any sense? I suspect if there is more than one PGC in the same VTS where you removed one of the audio streams from one of the PGCs, that VobBlanker doesn't disable the 2nd audio track for the other PGCs. Those other PGCs could actually have a second audio stream. Thus, you'll show 2 audio tracks even if you removed one from one of the PGCs. So, you have to strip the second (if empty) track from the other PGCs as well, or fix it in PGCEdit. Personally, I haven't seen your problem. -
No. Just checked. It was Bad News Bears (R1) that I'm trying to back up (and I've spotted this in other dvds) and the movie is in VTS 05 and it lists it as "one sequential PGC" in the VIDEO TS ifo, with IFOEdit. There were 4 audio tracks, English Dolby 5.1, English Dolby 2.0, French Dolby 5.1 and Comentary. VobBlanker 2.0.1.0 "stripped" out the French 5.1 and the Dolby 2.0 tracks, but when I played it in PowerDVD prior to "shrinking" it still listed the audio tracks, even though their content was blanked i.e. the audio tracks were not "greyed out" as they would have been in the previous version of VobBlanker. I used DVD Shrink to "shrink" and Nero to burn and when I checked the resulting copy in my standalone dvd player I found that the empty audio tracks were still there when I pressed the LANGUAGE button instead of going from the English 5.1 straight to the Commentary track and back again.
I further tested this by running it through the old version of VobBlanker -- 2.0.0.2 -- and the resultant burn was as previously. And what I actually wanted. Other titles have been similar and it looks like I may have to either resort to the previous version of blanker or do TWO "washes".
Maybe I'm missing something? Say in the settings, but even though there are more of them in the newer version, most looked the same as in the last version. At least those that mattered. Maybe someone can pass this on to jsoto and he can look into it???
Thanks, manono, for at least answering my query. no one else had any info or suggestions.

Well, since you've obviously tested and compared thoroughly, I think you have the evidence to back up your theory. If I were you, I'd bring it up in the IFO/Vob Editors Forum at Doom9 where the developer hangs out. And I don't think I'd present it as a bug, but in the form of a question. There may very well be a good reason why it's changed in the newer version, and it may be a feature and not a bug. Some of those guys know a heck of a lot more about these things than we do. I slight rewording of your last post should provide the information jsoto needs. If you're not a member there yet, you'll have to join and then wait 5 days before you can post.
And I don't even like to see the greyed out audio tracks when I test my DVDs in PowerDVD. I like all traces of the removed ones gone. PGCEdit can handle that for you. -
Sorry, I do not follow too much this forum...
Well, There is a setting to do what you want (I hope). See in "more settings" and look for:
"Clear audio/subs status when blanking/stripping"
BTW, I've changed the defaults in 2.0.0.1..
Code:Change: Some defaults modified: Next and Prev PGCN pointers defaulted to TRUE. Clear audio/subs when blanking defaulted to FALSE.
