  1. I am making a DVD ,. and am going to send it to soemone in the US (i live in oz), i have made the dvd, menues etc ready to put on to dvd and ust realied this, Can most dvds be played in any player now anyway? or should i go all the way back to the encoding stage and reencode in NTSC coz i really cant be bothered doing that. lol

    I just know that alo of DVD players here in oz now that ARNT multi region dvdplayers will still play region one dvds, would the other way roujd be the same?

    If you are burning a DVD, there is no region on it. (Unless you put one on there. )

    But if you are talking about playing PAL DVD videos in a US standalone NTSC DVD player, not a lot of them will do that. They could play them in a computer with no problems, though.

    Regions are not going to be much of a problem as your content will most likely be region-free if you burn it - a far bigger problem will be playing PAL material. I seem to recall reading that all DVD players will play both PAL and NTSC, but it's the TVs causing the problems. Judging on the number of posts here about the matter, it seems that a number of TVs available to the US buying public cannot play PAL, and in this case, they would require a multisystem DVD player than can convert the PAL to NTSC on-the-fly (as opposed to just outputting the PAL signal as-is), or alternatively be restricted to computer playback. In all honesty, I think you're better off going with NTSC for US customers.
