Hi i recently downloaded a movie with the intent of copying it onto dvd, however after checking it on divx and real players i noticed the sound was out of sync by a few seconds all the way through the film. I then tried watching the movie on windows media player and it was fine the sound was in perfect sync, i had a spare dvd-r lying around so i converted the movie using dvdsanta as i usually do and copied it to the dvd. Once i had done all this i played the movie on my dvd player and suprise suprise the sync was out again by a few secs all the way through the film.

I know this isnt a in depth description and im fairly new to all this but this is the first trouble ive had with sync, so i could be doing something simple wrong but anyone who is able to help me with this please reply.

With downloaded DivX and XviD files it is usually best to extract the audio from the video file and process it separtely using various programs.

The way of doing this depends on what kind of audio you have. Most likely it is VBR MP3 or AC-3 audio.

Use GSpot to determine the properties of the AVI file. Post a screen shot here.
