Hi,
I have 2 SVCD music videos that I'd like to convert to DVD.
I have a question, the SVCD were encoded as progressive and I want to convert them to DVD in interlaced so I can add them with other videos (already in interlaced TFF).
With TmpgEnc, do I simply set the source as progressive 4:3 and the encoder setting to interlaced TFF ?

No need to. DVD supports both Interlaced and Progressive Mpeg-2.
Unless you are trying to merge them into one Mpeg-2 file, then your settings should work fine.I stand up next a mountain and chop it down with the ledge of my hand........ I'm a Voodoo child.... Jimi Hendrix, -

If you keep them as seperate tittles, you can have some interlaced and some progressive. You only need another VTS if you have both 4:3 and 16:9 Aspect Ratios. Your DVD player will auto interlace the output to the TV.

dipstick is correct. As long as the DAR and the framerate is the same (25fps for PAL and 29.97fps for NTSC, either pulled down 23.976->29.97 or native 29.97fps), there will be no problem at all. They can even be all the same title.

It's not legal, but some folks have had success just using SVCD files as is -- search on it and you'll find some info and guides. Success varies, but if it works for you...
If that interests, there's a couple of links to SVCD stuff as well as good info here: http://www.thedigitalbits.com/officialfaq.html and can't hurt to check out the SVCD stuff here at videohelp.com
