Why doesn't my CD player recognise the mp3s I've just burned on a CD-R? I used Nero and chose the option "make MP3 disc" and not "Make Audio CD" because it would only allow me to put 80 mins on.

Do any CD players recognise mp3s or will I have to stick to 80 mins?

your cd player has to specifically state it supports playback of mp3's. otherwise your stuck to audio cd's.

Could be number of factors. cheap cd's, old cd player that doenst like cd-r's. try that audio cd in multiple players to double check its not the disc.

As has already been pointed out, only MP3 compatible players will play MP3 files straight from the disk. The other problem is like to be the disks you are using. Depending on what brand of CD-R you used, your player may not like it. I've used TDK, Verbatim, Memorex and various others and not one will play on every CD player I've tried. I've tried a few, Kenwood car player, 2 x Philips car players, Sony portable, JVC portable, Panasonic ghetto blaster, Pioneer ghetto blaster, Kenwood Hi-fi separate.

I've only found one brand of disk that will play in all of these and it's one of the cheapest! Tevion branded from Aldi (£3.99 for 10) will play in everything (compared to the Tesco own brand ones my missus bought which will only play in some things sometimes).

  6. Make sure that Nero is closing the CD. Do not allow future sessions. Might Help.

79:34 should work....SHOULD....that might be a problem though on an older burner. Also you might try the simple solution of burning slower.....works for me.

Also as suggested....make sure Nero is closing the session/disc.

How do I make sure the session is closed?

Oh and the audio cd finally works, just the mp3 thats not working and thats probably cause the cd player is too old.

If it works then most likely the session is closed. A closed session BETTER be the default in Nero....at least I hope it is. I have very limited knowledge of Nero...I use Prassi Ones....sorry.

  10. As stated by others, unless your CD player says that it can play MP3s, it won't.
