I went to a site last night and INSTANTLY got 11 viruses/trojans. I have all that taken care of but it seemed to put a white background behind the text of my icons and I cant see how to change them back like they were. If anyone knows how to change the icons back to the way they were (default) I wouls really appreciate it.

One of the Powertoys for XP is TweakUI. Google it. Open it and at the bottom left is "Repair". Click it and select "Repair Icons". Then "Repair Now" and "OK".

For future reference here is how to fix the icon text problem:
1. Bring up "System Properties" from the Control Panel.
2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. Select Performance Settings.
4. Check the box for "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop".
5. Select OK.
